| Dovetail is known as the best method to attach the neck to the body. But the problem has been that it is a very time consuming task that requires delicate and skilled craftsmanship of experiences builders and luthiers. This is one reason why the dovetail joint has been found only in high end guitars you only dreamed about owning. BUt now you dont have to just dream of owning a true dovetail joint acoustic guitar. All Korean made Cort acoustic guitars will feature a dovetail joint from 2002 on. We have created an innovative process that attaches the dovetailed neck to the body tightly. This process is unprecedented in acoustic guitar manufacturing and now, thanks to the dovetail joint method. Cort Acoustic guitars attain improved sustain and rock-solid stability that you have come to expect in extremely expensive acoustic guitars. |

Bracing |
When it comes to bracing, two critical issues must be addressed. First off how freely will it allow the top to vibrate? Secondly, how strongy will it hold the top? We know that this is a paradox, but Cort's own specially designed bracing catches those two birds with one stone. The "X" bracing pattern we developed is not only a heritage from many old and classic patterns, but a newly reconfigured one, improved through trial and error. As for the materials, we select a stiff, quarter-sawn spruce for the actual braces. A solid rosewood plate is used to reinforce the top, preventing the bridge area from being swelled or from sinking. You will notice how much the bracing can enhance the sound and feel once you strum a Cort. |
